13 Things Smaller Than JPMorgan's $13B Settlement
13 Things Smaller Than the JPMorgan Settlement:
Yesterday I wrote about JPMorgan’s $13B settlement with the authorities over their suspect business practices. Today, let’s take a look at just how big that settlement is. Here are 13 things smaller than that settlement.
- The GDP of the country Chad, which is $11B
- The combined value of the professional sports teams in New York. The Yankees, Mets, Giants, Jets, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, and Islanders have a combined value of $8.5B.
- The number of people in the world, which sits at approximately 7B.
- The number of Google searches per day. With about 5B Google searches per day, it would take two and half days to hit 13B.
- The number of pint glasses you could fill with the oil from the BP Deepwater Horizon spill. While gross, that would only be 2.8B pint glasses.
- The amount of Coca-Cola consumed in the world every day is about 1.8B servings. 13B is about a week’s worth of the soda.
- The square footage of Wal-Mart stores around the world is a little less than 1B. Wal-Mart would have to triple in size to get to 13B.
- Interstate 10 stretches 155,887,142 inches from Jacksonville, Fla to Santa Monica, Calif.
- There are about 89,300,000 cows in the United States.
- McDonald’s serves about 69M customers per day.
- Michael Jordan scored 32,292 points in his NBA career.
- To hit 13B miles, you would have to go to the moon and back 27,208 times.
- 2.4B people lived on less than $2 a day in 2010, meaning JPMorgan could sustain over a third of the population of three days with the value of this settlement alone.
- That’s a lot of money…
